Dental cosmetic contouring, also known as tooth reshaping, is a minimally invasive procedure that enhances the appearance of your teeth by gently removing small amounts of enamel. It’s used to correct minor imperfections like chipped, uneven, or slightly overlapping teeth, as well as small surface irregularities. The goal is to create a more symmetrical and balanced smile without needing more invasive treatments like crowns or veneers.
Cosmetic contouring is a painless and quick procedure, usually taking about 30 minutes. Since it only involves reshaping the outer layer of the tooth (enamel), no anesthesia is typically required. After the reshaping, your dentist will polish your teeth for a smooth, natural finish, and you’ll see the results immediately after the appointment!
